LEONHARDT
From a family of artists and musicians out of Ft Worth, TX, Jennifer Leonhardt had live music around her on a daily basis. Not allowed to listen to recorded music until her late teens, she studied the violin before teaching herself piano and guitar, mostly to accompany her singing. Since then, she's been writing her own material and performing it, drawing on a wide swath of styles of influence, from her grandmother's honkytonk and ragtime to soul and funk and straight up rock n roll. She has released several EP/CDs on her own GrassRoots label and toured nationally both with her band and solo. This year she released an album called Gods & Nations and is out touring with it this fall with her band LEONHARDT, a "full-tilt boogie outfit".
