The Authors
In the summer of 2006 four friends gathered in a garage in Austin, Texas to create a new sound. This sound grew out of a constant interchange of ideas that is at the core of the bands musical identity. Without notions of grandeur, they crafted songs that are as unique as their influences. Blending together their love of obscure pop, electro, and post-punk, The Authors were born.
Taking to the stage almost immediately after their inception, the band grew quickly accustom to the demands of putting on a memorable live show. They have since won over fans in Austin with a sound that harkens back to the gritty urbanism of early English new wave and current indie rock. With a frenetic live show that incorporates a mash up of dance beats, driving guitar, melodic bass, and atmospheric electronics, The Authors pour their hearts into each show they perform.
As they continue to refine their sound and live show, the band is beginning to make itself heard to a larger audience. Currently, the band is writing and rehearsing new material for a string of dates this fall. Fresh from recording their debut EP, The Authors are primed to break.
The Authors are:
